Screw conveyor, also known as silo-type screw conveyor.This product is mainly composed of a driving device, head section, middle section, tail section, head and tail bearings, and material inlet and outlet devices. It is suitable for feeding powder and granular materials, and is applicable to equipment requiring a certain height for material feeding in various industries. Adopting closed material conveying, it has good sealing performance, which can reduce environmental pollution caused by dust and also minimize material backflow.
The screw conveyor can realize inclined or vertical feeding, and can also be equipped with a simple movable frame for easier movement. A silo (available in circular or square shape) is designed at the feed inlet of the conveyor for convenient feeding. It can be used independently or directly connected and fixed with its supporting equipment, without the need for foundation and with a small floor area.In daily use, the screw conveyor can directly convey powdery materials or granular plastic raw materials into the hopper of mixing equipment.The material in contact with materials is generally stainless steel. During the conveying process, the raw materials will not be contaminated, and no other impurities will enter them.It can realize fully closed automatic conveying in the production process, and its working principle is not complicated. - The screw conveyor is mainly composed of a driving device, head section, middle section, tail section, head and tail bearings, and material inlet and outlet devices.
- Driving device: Composed of a motor and a reducer;
- Trough: Composed of the head section, middle section, and tail section. A detachable cover plate is installed on the trough, which can reduce dust flying and prevent the conveyed materials from being contaminated;
- Material inlet and outlet devices: The feed inlet of the screw conveyor is designed on the cover plate, the discharge outlet is designed under the trough, and gate valves and unloaders are designed at the inlet and outlet.
Working Principle:
Pour the raw materials into the hopper of the screw conveyor, turn on the switch, the motor drives the screw shaft to start rotating, and then stirs the materials to rotate. Under the action of friction between the materials and the inner wall of the machine shell, the screw continuously lifts the materials from the bottom of the hopper to the discharge outlet. The system is equipped with a time setting function, and the feeding time can be set according to the feeding amount each time.
Materials:
- Carbon steel screw conveyor: The carbon steel feeder is a commonly used type with wide application. Carbon steel material has low cost, large conveying capacity, good heat insulation effect, no need for cooling devices, and low power consumption. However, its anti-corrosion and anti-rust effects are slightly poor, but it can still realize the normal conveying of materials.
- Stainless steel screw conveyor: Made of SUS304/316 stainless steel, it is mostly used in industries or enterprises with high requirements for hygienic environment such as food and medicine. Stainless steel material is acid-resistant, corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant. The surface of the screw pipe diameter is flat without depressions or undulating wavy surfaces, and there is no distortion or deformation. It is also convenient to clean after use, and its service life is longer than that of carbon steel material.
- Plastic screw conveyor: Also known as corrosion-resistant screw conveyor, it is made of plastic material, which can resist strong acid and strong alkali corrosion, and is mostly used in chemical industry and other industries with strong corrosion.

Maintenance:
- The screw conveyor should be started first before adding materials to the hopper. It is particularly important to clean the materials in the hopper after production and add them again for the next use.
- When the screw conveyor starts feeding, the feeding speed should be increased gradually to reach the rated conveying capacity finally, and the feeding should be uniform. Otherwise, it is easy to cause blockage of conveyed materials and overload of the driving motor, leading to equipment damage.
- To meet the requirement of no-load start of the screw conveyor, stop adding materials before shutting down the conveyor each time, and stop the equipment operation only after all materials in the hopper are completely conveyed.
- It is necessary to ensure that the conveyed materials do not contain hard bulk materials, because bulk materials will cause the screw to be stuck and then damage the motor.
- During our production and use process, we must frequently inspect all parts of the screw conveyor to check whether the fastening parts of the equipment are loose. If any looseness is found, it should be fastened in time to ensure the normal operation of the equipment.
- Before starting the machine each time, first check the screws between the spiral pipe and the connecting shaft to see if they are loose. If looseness is found, correct it immediately.
- Do not remove the machine cover of the screw conveyor when the equipment is running, otherwise accidents may occur.
- If any abnormal phenomenon is found during the operation of the screw conveyor, it must be checked and eliminated first. Do not continue to operate the equipment when problems are found.
- It is necessary to regularly add lubricating oil to all rotating parts of the screw convey.
